Science Experiment.

What happens when you mix a little curiosity with the delicious taste of garden fresh leafy lettuce? What happens when you know that the delicious taste of said lettuce will be short lived and you will again only be seeing the thick heads of cabbage on the store shelf? You do an internet search and begin conducting a science experiment, of course!

My mate M and I experienced such a situation just this past week - and now for about $1.25 worth of entertainment and the possibility of lettuce year round; we are testing a theory on growing lettuce indoors ... inside a quart sized zip lock bag.

We chose three different varieties, for no real reason other than we recognised the picture on the seed pack. We think the package says 14-16 days for germination and 50 or so days until we can harvest the lettuce. I hope Days 16 and 51 are as successful as Day 1. Only time will tell ...
